Nylon Washers
Imperial Nylon Washers to BS3410:1961
Nylon washers are predominantly used in sealing applications in Water, oil and compressed air environments. They are also used as an insulator between screw/bolt heads when clamping glass and similar materials. Being a very hard and non-compressible material contributes to ensuring a firm and dynamic joint. When using nuts against the nylon, it is essential to use a flat washer to prevent galling and tearing of the nylon surface. Their use as spacers, packers etc. is common. Most thin nylon washers are stamped from sheets.
